The Crosswicks Friends Meeting House and the Interfaith Community Builders invites the community to attend their Third Annual Juneteenth Jubilee to be held on Saturday, June 17th. The free event will be held on the grounds of the Quaker Meeting House at 15 Front Street in Crosswicks, NJ. The event will run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
The day’s agenda will include music by Rod Blackstone, a dance coach, and Ms. Denise’s kitchen returns to serve delicious soul food. The event will also feature all kinds of history vendors, African American Artwork, and jewelry vendors. There will also be planned children’s activities so bring the whole family, Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, their own refreshments, and their dancing shoes.
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally recognized holiday that celebrates the ending of slavery and the emancipation of slaves in the United States dating back to 1865. This event will be the third Juneteenth Jubilee hosted by the Interfaith Community Builders in Crosswicks and looks to bring together the community for a day to remember an important part our country’s history, to celebrate progress we have made, and to use both our history and our present to move positively into our future as a community and country.
